Care of Disks
Keep food or drink away from your disks.
Avoid extremes of temperature. If the temperature is comfortable for you then your disks will be safe.
Store disk s vertically, preferably in a special case. It is a good idea to have back-ups (copies) of all your important disks.
Any magnetic fields will distort the information stored on your disks. These include telephones, televisions, magnets and any electric motor.
Disk Drives
Recent computers usually have a hard disk (hard drive) along with one or two floppy disk drives. The hard disk is usually called the c: drive and the floppy disk drive is usually the a: drive.
Inserting disks
Hold the disk on the opposite side from the metal sliding door and gently push it all the way into the slot of the drive. The drive will grab the disk and take it from you when you have inserted it most of the way. NEVER FORCE A DISK INTO THE DRIVE. If it does not go gently then you may have put it in the wrong way.
The drive will have a light to show you when a disk is spinning.
To remove the disk there is usually a button for you to push
in order to eject the disk from the slot. NEVER REMOVE A DISK WHILST
THE LIGHT IS ON.
